Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine are forming Ontario’s newest academic health sciences partnership. Our transition from a good community hospital to a great academic health sciences centre holds great promise. We will succeed by embracing teaching and research as drivers of optimal patient care and by our ability to procure adequate resources to fuel our growth. Through strategic relationships with our academic, community and industry partners, we will define our commitment and develop the necessary infrastructure to:

Provide highly specialized patient care, including secondary and tertiary levels of service to our community and region.

Educate and train future physicians and other health care professionals for Northwestern Ontario in an environment that affords the necessary mentorship and tools to optimize the learning experience.

Develop a world class research program with the necessary infrastructure to engage in basic, clinical and applied research activity that is relevant to the populations that we serve.
