April 4, 2006
We are now 100 days into the corporate strategic planning
process which began in January 2006 and I am please to report
that we are on pace to have the Strategic Plan presented to
the hospital Board on April 22, 2006.
Following Board approval, the Strategic Plan will be presented
broadly - to our staff, physicians, partners and other community
stakeholders. The Strategic Plan will be a high level blueprint
outlining the path to realizing our new vision. It is the
ensuing series of 100 day action plans that will be the most
visible, and have the greatest day to day impact on our staff
and community.
Starting immediately, the Senior Management Team will begin
to execute a series of action steps that will contribute to
the achievement of the strategic plan, but are designed to
immediately address the very serious concerns expressed about
our corporate culture and morale.
I invite you to review the attached Progress
Update. It will give you more details about the outcomes
of the second Strategy Workshop, and will clearly outline
the home stretch of the strategic planning process. Please
also take time to review the five Task Force presentations
that provide a more detailed analysis of the five key challenges
that face our organization. Key findings and recommendations
made by the Task Forces have been incorporated into the proposed
strategic plan.
