Susanne Flett, Chief Information Officer with TBRHSC and SJCG has been leading this project in partnership with the Northwest Health Network. “One advantage of the electronic health record”, she says, “is that information can be transferred and accessed by qualified individuals in a timely manner so that clinicians are able to provide healthcare services to patients using current, accurate information”.

In this initial phase of the REHR project, Geraldton District Hospital takes advantage of a core set of applications from Meditech including (1) Patient Registration, (2) Billing Accounts Receivable (3) Diagnostic Imaging, and (4) Electronic Reports and Clinical Results Viewing.

Manitouwadge, Terrace Bay, and Nipigon previously joined the REHR and Marathon expects to be integrated in January.

In February, Atikokan and Red Lake are planning to join the network using the Electronic Health Record.
