TBRHSC Announces New President and CEO

Angèle Brunelle is the Chair of the TBRHSC Board of Directors. She says, “we are ecstatic that such a qualified individual has stepped forward to lead us in what are going to be challenging times. I am pleased to report that the TBRHSC Board of Directors unanimously endorsed the recommendation of the TBRHSC, CEO Search Committee. This announcement is the culmination of a lot of hard work.”

 

Ron Nelson, Chair of the CEO Search Committee of the TBRHSC Board of Directors indicated that the committee and the Board of Directors are confident that Ms. Robichaud’s leadership experience and skills are right for the organization at this time. “We have a very progressive acute care agenda as well as a unique Academic and Research mission, and our search for a new CEO confirms that we are the place where great people want to be,” says Mr. Nelson.

 

Andrée Robichaud has had a number of leading healthcare roles in New Brunswick and is currently the President and CEO of Region Health Authority A. The RHAA is one of two Regional Health Authorities in New Brunswick that provides a wide range of healthcare services across many Hospitals and community healthcare facilities to a population of approximately 250,000 people. The RHAA budget is almost $590 million with a staff complement of approximately 7,600.

 

Ms. Robichaud’s 20 year career in healthcare includes leadership positions in the government and previous health regions. Her experience in policy, planning and human resources and her broad knowledge of the health sector has prepared her as one of the leaders for health system reform. She is a member of national and provincial committees that are driving system change and exploring innovative ways to ensure a progressive and sustainable work force for the future. Ms. Robichaud has been instrumental in helping to build a strong medical school partnership for Region A as well as creative strategies for healthcare access.

 

Ms. Robichaud has significant experience in providing leadership to rural and remote environments and has been successful in achieving outcomes through creative strategies and strong partnerships and relationships. Andrée is recognized for her ability to provide innovative and collaborative leadership with strategic and cost effective results. Ms. Robichaud has a Masters Degree in Public Administration and is bilingual.

 

Ron Saddington, the current President and CEO of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, is honoured to continue leading the organization until Andrée Robichaud assumes her new role and responsibilities on October 1st. Mr. Saddington and the Board of Directors will work closely with Ms. Robichaud to ensure that there is a smooth and successful leadership transition for TBRHSC. Mr. Saddington commented “I am excited about the next chapter for TBRHSC. Ms. Robichaud’s broad leadership and regional experience will be invaluable to the people and communities served by TBRHSC.”

 

Andrée Robichaud and her family are looking forward to coming to Thunder Bay. “I am very enthusiastic about this new opportunity and I look forward to advancing healthcare and health services on behalf of the citizens of Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario” said Ms. Robichaud.
