This
time has likely been stressful for your family, particularly your spouse.
Often, you do very well in the early convalescent period but your partner can
easily become tired and run down. Have your spouse/partner read the following
hints.
Helpful Hints For the Spouse
- Conserve your energy! The housework and other projects can wait.
- Rest when your partner rests.
- Arrange a schedule of daily activities that is convenient for you and your partner.
- Plan occasional breaks away from the house with friends. Remember - watching over your partner is not a 24 hour job!
- Try to have at least eight (8) hours of sleep each night.
- Your partner will have good days and bad days. This is normal.
- Relax and enjoy your time together!
