Parking:
As parking is sometimes congested, please plan to arrive in Diagnostic
Services at least 20 minutes ahead of the appointment time that is indicated on your booking confirmation letter. Parking fees vary depending on the amount
of time spent at the Centre.
Health Card:
Be prepared to present your valid health card at every visit. If you do not
have your health card, we will ask that you sign a Ministry of Health release
form.
Visitors:
When visiting Diagnostics Services for a procedure, family and friends are
welcome to attend, but they will be asked to wait in our waiting room during
your examination. We are also a child friendly environment however, for safety
reasons, children may not able to accompany their parent in to the examination
room. We therefore ask that arrangements are made to have children supervised
at all times while in the department.
Test Preparation:
Please review your booking letter for specific details regarding test preparation. For some diagnostic tests, proper preparation is essential to achieve
accurate diagnostic information. Please note: if you are not properly prepared on the day of your examination, your test may be rescheduled. The demand
for diagnostic services is very high. To achieve provincial wait time targets and optimize both staffing and equipment time, it is vital that we fill
every appointment time in our schedules. Please notify the Diagnostic Imaging Department if you are not able to attend a scheduled appointment. With notice,
we will be able to offer your appointment to another patient that is waiting for service. To reschedule an appointment, please call 684-6300.
Screening for Respiratory Illness:
In an effort to protect both patients and staff from the spread of respiratory illness within Diagnostics, upon arrival at the registration desk you
will be asked whether you (1) are experiencing a new or worse cough or shortness of breath, and (2) whether you have felt feverish in the past 7 days.
If you answer yes to these questions you may be asked to wear a mask. If you have these symptoms and are unsure whether you should attend your appointment,
please do not hesitate to contact Diagnostic Services at 684-6300 and we will assist you in making this decision.
