New Patient Information - Your Referral to Supportive Care

Click to listen to this page using ReadPlease cc_15During one of your first appointments at the cancer centre, you will have a brief interview with a Supportive Care counselor, such as a social worker or chaplain, to assess your needs.

The Supportive Care team is committed to providing quality care to cancer patients and their families, including helping people manage the emotional, social and spiritual challenges of cancer. The counselors have backgrounds in psychology, social work or pastoral care, and are skilled in individual, family and group counseling. They also help patients deal with practical concerns - making travel arrangements, finding drug coverage, or accessing other community services.
