Dr. Bryan MacLeod
Head, Palliative Care

 

Dr. B MacLeod Click to listen to this page using ReadPlease Bryan MacLeod is a family physician from Thunder Bay, Ontario. He cut his teeth as a rural family doctor in Marathon, Ontario, after graduating from the Northwestern Ontario Family Medicine Program in 1998.

 

He studied both Medicine and his initial calling of Psychology at Queen’s University, Kingston.

 

He is a father of three young, bright, and busy children. In his spare time, he is Head of Palliative Care for Regional Cancer Care at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

 

He is the outgoing Director of Faculty Development for the Northern Ontario School of Medicine’s (NOSM) Northwestern Ontario postgraduate program (NOMP). He is an associate clinical professor for NOSM, as well as the past chair of NOSM’s Faculty Development Committee and Faculty Development Advisory Group.

 

 

Sue Bailey, R.N., CHPCN(C)
Palliative Care Clinician

 

Sue BaileySue Bailey was trained as a nurse, and is the Palliative Care Clinician at TBRHSC. She is a Registered Nurse Association of Ontario (RNAO) Best Practice Champion, and Director of Hospice Palliative Care Network Northwest (HPCNN). Sue is also a founding member of the Regional Pain and Symptom Management Team, a member of the Northwestern Ontario End of Life Network and its Nominating Committee.

 

Sue is also a Medical Advisor for Kinloch Manor, provides educational resources for the Centre for Education and Research on Aging & Health (CERAH) and is involved with patient and family advocacy and education.

 

As a member of Lakehead University’s Faculty of Nursing Expert Panel, Sue helped develop an educational module for on-line learning regarding pain management (RNAO Initiative).

 

Her research interests include Palliative Care and pain and symptom management.
