All men 50 and older should discuss the risks and benefits
of prostate cancer screening with their healthcare provider.
Prostate cancer may not have any symptoms at all, which is
why it is important to talk with your health care provider
about an annual prostate exam if you are 50 or older.
Risk factors for prostate cancer include:
- Age - particularly for men over 65
- Family history of prostate cancer
- African ancestry
Some men develop it without any of these risk factors.
|
Warning signs:
- Frequent, difficult or painful urination
- Difficulty starting urination
- Dribbling urination
- Urine that contains blood or pus
- Persistent abdominal bloating, feelings of fullness,
and cramps
- Pain during ejaculation
