with information on the medications you are taking in hospital.
- how each medication works to improve your health
- how and when to take your medication
- importance of taking your medication correctly
- possible effects to watch for
- possible problems when combining medications
- special precautions
- proper storage of medications
- take all medications exactly as directed by your doctor
- carry a record of all your medications in your purse or wallet
- refill your prescriptions before they run out
- check with your pharmacist before taking any nonprescription
medications (i.e.. Cough/cold products) or herbal products
- visit the same drugstore so they have a complete record of
your medications
- take your medications at the same time each day
- know your medications and why you are taking them
- Keep your medications in a cool, dry place away from direct
sunlight
- Do not store medications in the bathroom or medicine cabinet.Heat
and dampness may cause medications to break down
- Store your medications in their original containers
- Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine that is no longer
