Initiating Insulin Preceptorship - Dr. Alice Cheng
Dr. Alice Cheng , a well known and respected specialist in
the care of patients with diabetes presented the workshop
"Initiating
Insulin Preceptorship" at the Thunder Bay Regional
site. She has graciously provided copies of her presentation
for posting on our site for reference purposes.
Dr. Cheng has also provided a template of the Insulin
Prescription that is recommended for use by all clinician
involved in ordering insulin for their patients. This tool
was created in partnership with the Canadian Diabetes Association
(CDA) and the participating Pharmaceutical companies. Unique
to this tool is the addition of the supplies that the patient
will require to support the insulin administration as per
the CDA guidelines.
