  • The MRI is a large machine shaped like a tunnel. Many children say it looks like a big donut.
  • An MRI procedure is similar to an Xray. Both take pictures of the inside of your body.
  • MRI uses magnetism, radio waves and a computer to take the detailed images (pictures) of your body.
  • Your job during your MRI is to lie perfectly still "like a statue", then the pictures will be very clear.
  • It will take about 20-30 minutes.
